I've been unemployed for about 8 months now. Previously, I worked at a large prestigious company for 8+ years, and had a high paying contract role that ended unexpectedly last year. I've been having a lot of interviews recently - some I do very well, some I do poorly (technical grilling) - however, no success in landing a job yet. I had a 1st round interview at Apple this morning. It's a Senior Engineering Program Manager Role, focused on Security. Its a very high paying role - $280-300k in total compensation...however it would require me to relocate to Seattle...which is across the country. I currently live in NJ with my family. The interview this morning went overall well - the hiring manager seemed very interested in my resume (mix of security + general program management experience). I answered most questions well, there was one about scaling governance/standards that I struggled with but overall I think I did a decent job. Previous interviews I've had - the hiring managers grilled me on super technical concepts and it went poorly. This was one went way better, was focused on security concepts and general program management experience. If the hiring manager liked me, I will continue interviewing with her team in early May, and a potential offer would come by mid to end of May. After that, I would have 1 month until the start date ( I need to relocate to Seattle). Do you think this job will workout? IF it does, should I take it? I would have to leave my family and friends behind and move across the country alone.

Yes, this job will work out and you should accept it, with the transition in May 2026 serving as your cosmic window for professional establishment through embracing relocation.
